Use the Pavement as your Runway

I absolutely can not get over how much I love this. Sometimes I get caught up in this and that, sometimes I forget that I need to focus on myself. Yes, maybe that is alittle selfish but then again ... who ever said that was a bad thing? I want to feel alive again ... something I haven't felt in a long time. I seem at times to be focused on finding someone to make me happy that I didn't realize that person was there the whole time ... starring back at me in the mirror. How can I fit my puzzle together when the last piece (me) is turned the opposite way?! Looks like I need to dig back into my Buried Life List ...

Just a few weeks ago I was in Miami for a Trend Insider Event with mark. and my Regional Manager was asking what made me join mark. and what about it made me believe in the brand. The moment those words slipped from her mouth, my eyes grew big and my smile expanded to the sky. (I tend to get like this when it's about something I love.) "Well," I began, "Since I was a little girl I have been fascinated by fashion. Dresses, heels, scarves, lipstick, blush ... if it glitters it was mine. Being from a small town I wanted to do something that would fit my personal style. I knew there were many companies that offered an independent rep position that I was able to do from my hometown. I did my research and in the end I chose mark. Ya see, my style is constantly changing. I'm not the type to stick with one look. Mark was and still is the perfect outlet for me to do that!  I would rather spend $100 and get a whole look rather than one item. I believe just because it has a 3 digit price tag does not mean it looks any better. Have your personality flow into your fashion. Dress the way you want to, not just because everyone else is doing it! Fashion represents you .... every woman should use the pavement as her runway!" .... Yes, all that flowed out of my mouth like I had been rehearsing it for years. She stared at me for a moment, taking it all in, and said, "I couldn't have said that any better. That passion that you have will take you so far and I am so glad you decided to take this opportunity and truly be a pioneer in the company. You are the youngest person that was chosen for the job and already I can see you achieving any dream you set for yourself." So with that said I will be flying out in 2 weeks for New Orleans for our 2011 kickoff meeting to discuss so many exciting things that will be coming to mark. Needless to say, mark. is full of opportunities to grow within the business and to expand into other companies with a great resume. I know with every bone in my body that fashion & beauty is what I want to wrap myself in for the rest of my life. In the fall i am going back to school for Fashion Merchandising ... it's not just my wish bone anymore. :)

I'm in the works on a second blog devoted to finding those runway styles on a budget.

"INSPIRE WITH STYLE" (coming soon)
